BIG Changes for 2016!

The Lease Is Up...

As many of you already know, after a very successful two years in Grey Lynn we have outgrown our little kitchen and have been looking for a larger space. Nothing suitable has presented itself that can house both a cafe as well as a sizable production kitchen.

Unfortunately, this means that the Cafe will not be reopening this year.

Why am I doing this?

Having the last few weeks off has given me the opportunity to get back in touch with why I started Pure Food Kitchen and reminded me of some very important goals that I set for the business.

My primary goal has always been…
To make 'clean eating' Acceptable, Accessible and Affordable to whomever chooses to follow this lifestyle.

When I sat down and thought about those 3 A's and what we have achieved over the past two years, I realised that we still have a long way to go! Clean eating is definitely becoming more Acceptable and I would like to think that we have played a part in educating people about the benefits of this lifestyle.
I have worked hard to make our products Affordable. We have constantly refined our processes, negotiated with our suppliers and kept our packaging simple so that we are able to provide excellent quality food at reasonable prices.
As for being Accessible? I don't think that we have focused on this nearly enough.
We have had one little cafe, a bit out of the way, in Auckland. Yes, we are able to ship a selection of our products NZ wide on a weekly basis, and Yes, we do have other stockists both in and outside of Auckland, but we need to do more.
I get messages from you all the time asking when you will be able to purchase our food in your area. To date, we have been constrained by the size of our kitchen and TIME.

Having the cafe open 6 days a week there were not enough hours in the day to allow me to grow the business to meet the demand outside of Grey Lynn. To all my cafe customers, thank you so much for your support over the past two years. I have made many new friends and enjoyed the daily banter, which has made this a difficult decision to make. However, closing the cafe allows us to refocus our energy, enabling us to provide food to more of our Tribe across New Zealand.

Enter 'Phase Two' of Pure Food Kitchen…

2016 is the year to address the third A, and to make our products more Accessible! Our goal is to build a network of stockists to supply every main centre in New Zealand, whether this is local cafes, health food stores or the freezer at your local supermarket.
This will provide you with the opportunity to purchase our products locally where you live or work, across New Zealand.
